Dog Cosplay - Is Dressing An Animal Cruel, Or Nothing But Cute?

I read an interesting article in the paper today. It was sparked by a letter which was sent into the newpaper's agony aunt for animals. Basically a young woman was concerned about all the funny pictures that her friend had been posting onto Facebook of her cat which she constantly dressed up to take photos of for her own amusement, and of course to get a laugh out of her friends. The question was whether this was cruel to the cat in anyway.

Now the facts are that there is no law in dressing up an animal for any reason if, of course, it is not causing any major discomfort. It was suggested by the agony aunt that the friend who wrote in tried getting her other friend out of the house once in a while to try uping her social media standing with photos and news of other things! What is interesting about this from my perspective is that animal dress up is not an uncommon thing on the Internet, in fact it is extremely popular. From the analytical stats produced for my own website I have found that a large majority of my monthly searches do come from people looking to see funny dog videos or photos of animals in dress up. Particularly smaller breeds, with corgi's being the the most popular search term for dog breed. It is easy to conclude that as a large number of people who own breeds such as corgi's have them for the sake of fashion, they will want to make sure that their dogs stay fashionable as well. Dress up outfits and costumes for dogs is a multi million dollar business, with some experts estimating the market to be worth upto $301million a year.

On Cute Dog Thing we have enjoyed many photos and videos of dogs in dress up, from fantasy costumes such as a post that was published earlier this week of two dogs playing live action role play Skyrim together, and also to the photos that we get submitted to us every week. As we have now come to expect, most of these photos are of cute and funny costumes that have been bought for their dogs such as this photo of a cute chihuahua which had been bought an adorable elephant costume by its owner.

If you want to see more quality content dont delay and come over to our dog video site where there is lots more user submitted content.

Dog Breed Challenge - The Highlight Videos For Our Favourite Breeds

Here at Cute Dog Thing of the Day we aim to provide what we believe to be the best dog videos out there on the Internet everyday for you to share and enjoy amongst your network of friends and colleagues. We love dogs and every video we discover and make our 'Thing' of the Day takes a special place on a site as a featured listing. But we have to biased sometimes and say that we do have certain breeds that are our favourites, and to pick our favourite videos so far from what we have posted for each of these breeds would be a daunting challenge. But for a start of 2012 challenge we though we would take a journey back now over our last year of posting funny dog videos and bring you what we consider our top top favourites of out top top breeds!

Siberian Husky - Riding Shotgun

This dog plays it cool in the passenger seat of his owners van, riding shotgun with his elbow rested on the passenger window!

Boxer - "Hullo"

This was our first ever video that we submitted to the site from our own collection. A funny occurence that happened when we were taking a couple of dogs out for a walk from the local homeless dog shelter, the boxer seems to say hello back when I put the camera up to him. Many people love this video, and it is definitly our favourite Boxer vid (biased obviously!)(www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggkcOvwVIwM)

Jack Russell - Jesse

When it comes to Jack Russells the king has to be Jesse, who is the most talented pooch we have ever seen on the net. He can pretty much do anything! And the amount of time that the pooch's owners must have put into training his is really commendable!

Pit Bull - Sharky

We here at Cute Dog Thing feel very sad about how the gang culture surrounding this breed has led to the destruction of alot of these dogs. Except for the occasional cases where Pit Bulls have been brought up to harm, most are affectionate and loveable dogs. We love Sharky, as there is nothing he loves more than being cool and hanging round the pool with the chicks! (www.youtube.com/user/texasgirly1979)

Corgi - Puppy Hiccups

So we are called Cute Dog Thing of the Day, but what is our cutest video ever? Too hard to say, but one think we do always laugh at is dog sneezes. This video goes one further than that as it is actually a cute corgi pup with the hiccups, aww, and then take into account it's fast asleep as well, double aw! (www.youtube.com/user/SiroWan)

British Bulldog - A Family Christmas

We recently ran our 25 Days of Cute Dog Christmas which featured alot of pooches having fun over the festive period. And of all the breeds these Bulldogs seemed to be having the most true to life dis-organised family affair kind of a Christmas! (www.youtube.com/user/strugger1)

Tips On Uploading Cherished Dog Video Memories To The Web

The Internet has become an amazing source for uploading, storing and sharing data. But with all that has happened recently in the news with file sharing companies like Megaupload, and the lines and lines of policy agreements that have to be agreed to before you can use certain services like Youtube or Flickr it can all seem a little daunting, and the online world is by no means a safe one.

When you want to share your Funny Dog Video online there are many options you can choose, the important thing to decide is the scope to which you want your dog video to be seen. Perhaps you are looking to share the video with those closest to you. Sites like Facebook will allow you to upload videos as well as photos and gives you control over the groups of people in your circle of friends that can see the content. It is important to note however that Facebook will lay a claim on your video once it has been uploaded to their servers, so dont upload something that you think may become a viral hit in the future unless you are happy to give up the rights to the potential revenue. In this particular instance you certainly want to maximise your audience using a site like Youtube which will allow users to spread your video around the internet on social bookmarking sites, and if you have set up the video settings correctly will even allow other people to add your video to their own sites by directly embedding your video into their page. They dont have to pay you anything to do this, as the permissions to do this have already been put in place as soon as you have uploaded your video, what you get out of it is the additional audience that will see the video once it has spread around the net, so it is important to get your adverts in place before this happens. Youtube has a great profit for video hits scheme which you can research further.

For those who are worried about the terms, conditions, regulations that these sites put in place and are looking for the simpler option, publishing to the web using a reputable Funny Dog Site, probably the best thing you can do is get in touch with the people at Cute Dog 'Thing' of the Day. As a dog video hobbiest group they are not looking to pocket anything from individuals, they just want to share the latest fun clips on the internet with their many followers and fans. If you were to provide them with a link to your video or even the original photographs of your cute dogs themselves they guarantee that they will use the material with the greatest of respect and ensure that you are fully accredited and notified of the content's involvement on the site.

It's Lunchtime, And I Want To Watch Funny Dog Videos On The Internet

There is no doubt that animals have found a wonderful voice for themselves on the Internet. From viral hits like Nyan Cat to the Talking Hungry Dog that got voted as the top internet video of 2011 by Channel 4's Rude Tube, it is clear that people love animals, and people love uploading videos of their animals for the world to see. This blog in particular focuses on the animal which has made one of the biggest impacts on the web and is indeed man's best friend, the loveable dog.

While cats hold a key demographic with young to middle aged women, the dog resinates with audiences young and old, while certain breeds can be stereotyped to particular individuals, such as the poor chihuahua which is as big of an icon to what I would call 'prada women' as to their handbags, it can be stated that a puppy of any breed would melt any person's heart. And this love of dogs is shared on the internet in mass numbers every year. It can be the most simplest of videos such as Funny Dog Clips of a new puppy that has been brought into a family, the owner loves they way they snore for example so instantly whips out the camera and gets a video uploaded to Youtube as fast as they possibly can, beaming with what can be likened to maternal pride. But these simple videos can generate as many hits as the biggest Dog Video, and these are the videos that everyone loves to see. When dogs do weird things, really funny and unexpected things, they stand out to us because as we all know dogs have a level of intellegence that can make their actions quite unpredictable at times, and every dog has their own personality. One of the biggest hits from last year was the loveable Fenton, who unfortunetly has not been tracked down properly since his famous antics at Richmond Park made him the most famous dog of 2011.

It seems that there will always be a wealth of internet videos out there of loveable dogs taken by their loveable owners, and I for one love to see the latest funny dog videos everyday. For it's daily posts and most upto date Funny Dog Videos and Photos I personally cannot fault the website Cute Dog 'Thing' of the Day. And naturally there is a wealth of videos out there on popular social media sites which I am sure you the reader are a part of. You just have to take the plunge and see what a wealth of entertainment is out there!
